La Serpiente

 

Cabezas vueltan cuando paso por la puerta

La gente me pone distancia

Ojos míos examinan el cuarto

Por ser serpiente, no me aceptan

En la esquina me escondo

Tranquila, hago lo que se me dé la gana

Sin juicio, mi ambition florece

Tengo dominio sobre mis demonios

Pero la gente me tiene miedo

Nerviosos que les voy a morder

Mi lengua siseando y esperando atacar

Mi veneno infectando los y cambiando opinión

La gente teme cambio

Pero por ser serpiente, me van aceptar

Heads turn when I enter the door

People place distance

My eyes examine the room

Because I am a serpent, they will not accept me

In the corner I hide

At peace, I do whatever I want

Without judgement, my ambition flourishes

I have authority over my demons

But people fear me

Nervous that I will bite them

My tongue hissing and waiting to attack

My venom infecting them and changing their opinion

People fear change

But because I am a serpent, they will accept me
